Dear Sisters and Phi Mu Family,

We have two tours for 2008. The trip to Greece in May will be an active one with visits through archaeological sites and mountaintop monasteries. The other, this one, Castles, Cathedrals and Cuisine is a week long river barge cruise designed with those in mind who prefer a more leisurely pace not as much walking. We begin in Frankfurt, Germany.

Our small intimate riverboat is staffed with the most accommodating personnel, and we’ll mosey along the Moselle River in the good company of those other Phi Mus from across the United States. We have chartered this intimate vessel that has a capacity of for 32 persons maximum for Phi Mus, their spouses, family and invited guests.

Those who have traveled with us to Provence and Paris to Normandy know the excellent dining and service we’ll enjoy. Continental cuisine is masterfully prepared and presented to set an ambiance of well being throughout this delightful week aboard.

Phi Mu trips are mind expanding, and they further the life long learning commitment to education that the Foundation and Fraternity presents. But they are also great FUN! The Phi Mu “girls” like to have it all! Our moving “house” will make you think back to those exciting days on campus, of course tempered with experience. The friendships that are fostered will last a lifetime and continue well beyond the parameters of the duration of the trip. Kenda Hannigan has masterfully designed a small newsletter, and if you don’t have a copy, let us know. Of course we learn about the activities of the Foundation and Fraternity too, which keeps us up to date on the continually expanding outreach of our dear Phi Mu.

The extension, for those who can take more than a week vacation, is to East Germany, completely revitalized since the Berlin Wall crumbled less than two decades ago. We’ll see the remnant of the Cold War era with a visit to Checkpoint Charlie. We’ve included in the program cities that were behind the Iron Curtain: Erfurt, Dresden and Berlin. Due to the popularity of “congresses” (conventions) in the hot new destination of Berlin, we must position before the cruise rather than afterwards.

We have listed the two segments chronologically for clarity, and have left the air arrangements as a separate item. Use mileage or let us help you find low-cost airfare from your home city. We have found that some Phi Mu travelers like to arrive a day or two early to rest up for the tour and cruise, so we’ll help you with those arrangements too.

Come join us for yet another delightful Phi Mu trip. We need to hear from you soon to hold your place on the cruise and the extension
